After the events of Scanners 2, Kellum went deep undercover to protect his older sister and himself from being exploited by government agencies. A couple months later, his girlfriend has a freak-out and leaves him, taking their dog (Trooper) with her. Kellum finds that his parents had another child, Jeannie, before they were killed. They had left her with more friends that eventually accept David into their family so he can be with Jeannie when he realizes she is a scanner, but has a much weaker ability compared to David's. In effect, he becomes Rodney McKay and goes back to school after he masters his abilities and is able to function in high population areas without being stressed. As McKay, he does get his multiple PhDs and is hired as a civilian contractor with the US military and eventually goes to Atlantis. Events on an away mission force McKay to reveal that he's a Scanner, but his identity holds as Meredith Rodney McKay. Sheppard has some difficulties with the fact that McKay has psionic abilities but they do get together (please, must have a hot sex scene with Rodney as bottom). The SGC may look into McKay's background and may/or may not find his true identity-depends on the author's discretion. Also, McKay's abilities have grown over the years, so he's pretty damn powerful. The Ancients can't sense them, since McKay hides his ability extremely well but they may make an appearance since McKay revealed his abilities on that away mission to save his team. Must have a happy ending, I get depressed on sad endings.
The game of "Would You Rather" that Carter, McKay, and Keller play while trapped in "Trio" goes a little farther. Instead of just asking about celebrities, they start asking about other members of the Atlantis expedition or the SGC. (Also, you could decide to change which characters got stuck down there) What secret feelings are revealed? Does Keller admit she has feelings for Ronon (or McKay)? Is Rodney carrying a torch for Sheppard? What's actually going on with Carter and O'Neill? What else can you come up with? Any pairing you like, although there was definately a hint of McKay slashiness in the show, and that would be interesting.

I'd to like read a funny story about Radek's still. (You know he has one!) Could be from the still's POV or author omniscient. Slash OR gen, BUT you can have Radek/Elizabeth if you include McShep. NO JS/EW, please!
10,000 years is a long time to be alone, and to be alone like that can drive a person or city to insanity. This is where Atlantis is not just a city. Her time alone drove her into insanity and when the expidition arrives she takes the ones with the gene along with her. It can either be gradual or all at once but gene or not Mckay must be driven insane with the carriers. He and Sheppard are the cities 'favorites'. It can McShep. Bonus points to whoever can make it mostly cannon up until the ancients try to kick the expidition from Atlantis.
Jeanne McKay was the scientist working at Area 51, the SGC, who travelled on the Atlantis Expedition, and now three Years later, it's her brother Rodney that is brought to Atlantis. Sheppard feels the need to take Rodney under his wing during his stay, and can't help but notice the difference between Rodney and his sister, and the rapport that they immediately strike up, it's a companionable and affectionate bickering, and sniping, and John hasn't enjoyed someone's company in a long time.
Danny Phantom/SGA Crossover: 1/2!Ghost!19!John meets 18!Genius!Rodney; McShep.
How about a Twilight crossover? 17 year old Meredith Rodney McKay goes to the town of Forks, Washington (for whatever reason the author chooses), and is instantly attracted to the mysterious 17 year old John Sheppard and his family. He doesn't know that they're vampires! John is like Edward: he can read people's minds, all except Rodney's. And Rodney is his Singer: his blood is more tempting to John than any others. You can have any of the other SGA or Sg1 characters in the story as John's family/foes, or you can use the Twilight characters, but replace Edward with John. But Ronan has to take the place of Jacob as a werewolf. The ending HAS to be either John/Rodney, or Rodney/Ronan. If you're up to it, I'm completely fine with John/Rodney/Ronan, but I strongly prefer McShep. :) Any characters from both SGA and SG1 are allowed, but this fic should be McShep centered! (Preferably in Rodney's perspective!)

Sheppard and McKay share the consciousness of two Ancients, they don't have long left, but want to spend this time together, it's agreed to, without quite realising that they were married, and that time together meant making love. And once they're gone, John and Rodney are left with the memories of having had sex together.
Sheppard's youth wasn't restored by the Wraith that drained him, instead, he has remained an old man. John and McKay had been together, not for long, but now Rodney is torn in what he's feeling towards John. John has refused to go back to Earth, wanting to stay in Atlantis, and Weir has allowed this, but he isn't expecting Rodney to care for him, he doesn't want Rodney to see him like that. Rodney knows that he should, knows that he should want to, and a part of him does, but another can't get past John's appearance. It was hard enough to be with another Man, John being the exception, and their Friendship essentially paving the way. From being with a Man in his prime, to an Old Man, that even with Atlantis' Transporters, can barely make it around the City, is too big of a leap for Rodney to make, and he's ashamed that he's not a big enough person to continue their Relationship. Although they don't initially know, the Wraith started the process of reversing the Feeding, and John is slowly recovering, and in a matter of Weeks, he'll be restored, but there is a massive wedge between him and Rodney. On the one hand, it's understandable, but they can't just forget what happened, it became almost mutually unspoken to not even visit, or continue their Friendship, and if Rodney couldn't be with John under those circumstances, should they even try to get past this.
The Ori are invading Earth, and with the Ancients still in control of Atlantis, the SGC ask them for help. The Ancients offer to let people evacuate to Atlantis, and into the Pegasus Galaxy. Sheppard's is one of the SG Teams leading the evacuation, very few actually make it through the Gate in time, and one of those is Rodney, coming through with the last few. They contact Teyla and Ronon, but they're all that's left.
This story is AU after the Seige events. In this Reality, bisexuality/homosexuality is the norm. Heterosexuality isn't. Almost all relationships are dominant/submissive pairings. Well, after making contact with Earth, McKay convinces his sister, Jeannie, to come to Atlantis. (In this reality, Jeannie remained single and doesn't have kids.) Jeannie comes, and is amazed at all the things Atlantis has to offer. She is envious that her brother has Col. John Sheppard as his mate, wishing she had someone to care about her like that. Little did she know, she already had...for when she arrived, she caught the unwavering eyes of Laura Cadman. I would prefer that Jeannie McKay is a submissive, while Laura is the dominant. You can write any outcome, and can even have another character competing against Laura for Jeannie's affections.
Rodney McKay has been exploring the possibility that Ancient Technology puts off a potentially harmful Radiation to Humans, Ancients wouldn't have been affected, but the Expedition might have been. He's right, the Ancients knew it, and the affects are an altering of personality, and most seriously, of health. Everyone has been affected to a degree, but Rodney most seriously, having had the most exposure to Atlantis' Technology. Carson develops a treatment, and Rodney's going to be okay, but since he's been affected, he's quite uncharacteristically started a Relationship with another man, John Sheppard, and now he doesn't know if that's because of the affects of the Radiation.
I've seen many Ancient!John fics, but few Ancient!Rodney ones, & would love for more. So, here's my Challenge: Rodney's a Descended Ancient who purposely made himself human (for some important reason) with a Dormant ATA gene. Carson's gene therapy awakens past Ancient memories. Why did he Descend? Is he there to Help or Hamper Progress? Have Fun:) Bonus Points for McShep:)
A mission goes terribly wrong for SGA-1. McKay messes up something greatly (can be anything, but has to be a big mistake), which causes Sheppard to be captured. The resting SGA-1 members must return to Atlantis alone. Back in Atlantis (choose whatever season you want to have whomever you like best in charge) there is a decision made to send McKay home because of his mistake. McKay then runs away right into danger's hands to save Sheppard and redeem himself. Must have Sheppard/McKay pairing, NC-17 preferred but not necessary, happy ending.
Some Alterans have arranged marriages, and John is one of those Alterans. Atlantis has just arrived in Pegasus, everyone is working setting up a new civilisation, and his Parents spring on him an arranged marriage. They're not mandatory, but are appreciated by the families that arrange them. What's not know is if you're going to get a boy or a girl, and John likes girls, he doesn't want to be married to a boy. John has never met anyone who's had a successful arranged marriage, and after seeing Rodney, doesn't believe that he's actually going to. He's horrible, arrogant, dismissive, and if John was ever going to go with a boy, it certainly would not be him. He's going to go through with it for his parents' sake, and then end it in a year. They can live separate lives, Rodney spending his time ensconced in the control room, and the labs, John spending it flying, and as much time spent away from their shared quarters as possible.
This is an Atlantis-fic set in the world based off of "Final Fantasy; the Spirits Within" movie. It is set in a futuristic Earth, and there are quarantined Colonies instead of countries that are used to protect the remaining humans safe from the spirit-like Phantoms. John Sheppard is a Colonel of the Military, the leader of his band of soldiers Ronon, Teyla, Laura and Lorne. He is sent to another Colony that is filled mainly with scientists, in order to protect their research and them. It is here that he meets Rodney McKay; a scientist who believes he can solve the Earth's problems with the Phantoms, and who holds a secret within himself; he has a mutated strain of a Phantom virus within himself. However, the antagonist, General Koyla will go as far as possible to destroy the Phantoms using the Satelite Cannon; even if it means devastating the Earth in the process. As John and Rodney grow closer, John starts to feel emotions for Rodney that he was trained to ignore. It becomes harder to do so as he spends more time with him, but in the end, will the Phantoms take away Rodney before John has had a chance to really love him? You can have other relationships in the story, but I would like to see a progression between Rodney and John romantically. Bonus points if the story is really long. (Can be broken down into chapters if you want.) If you have no clue about the Final Fantasy story, you can go to Wikipedia, and look up: Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within. It has a but load of info on the gadgets, Phantoms, and anything else you might need from the movie, if you want to add it to the story!!! ;D
Sheppard wakes up, but immediately knows that something isn't right, he's not in his quarters on Atlantis for a start. On further investigation, he finds himself still in Antarctica. There was never any expedition to Atlantis, and taking his chopper out to the site of the Ancient outpost, find that there's nothing there. At least if the outpost is there, it's never been uncovered. John tries contacting the SGC, but it's not there either, the Stargate was never discovered. He sets about trying to find the others; Elizabeth is in the Middle East, negotiating peace talks, Aiden is in Iraq, John can't decide if that's still better than being MIA in the Pegasus Galaxy, and Carson he can't find head nor tail of. He's able to find out that Rodney is at Area 51, and knows that if anyone knows what's happened, and why John remembers, then it's his best friend. John doesn't have clearance for Area 51, but needs to get to Rodney somehow or other.
Major John Sheppard didn't go on the original Expedition to Atlantis, but a Year later, arrives on Daedalus during the Siege, and the first person that he meets is Rodney McKay.
Keller accompanies Sheppard's team on a mission, while McKay stayed on Atlanis to work on a project, but Keller is killed in an accident, and McKay blames Sheppard, who is destroyed that McKay would blame him.
John Sheppard is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it's been recommended that he return to Earth for recuperation, but he's refusing to leave Atlantis. Instead, he's asked for a leave of absence, and has moved to the Mainland, away from everyone. Rodney McKay however is not willing to put up with John isolating himself, and after a several weeks of everyone dissuading, and placating him, Rodney after him, but doesn't find who he expected to.
